*Scoops some up into a vial, and holds it up to the light*

"Not quite...somethings missing. *light goes off* Separation and distillation, that's the key!"

*Moves the cauldron over to a spider's web of glass tubes which all terminate in a single flask and pours the contents into the hopper. The various colors of the ingredients separate into individual tubes and rejoin in the flask as a layered rainbow-colored fluid. Holding it up to the light, he peered through it*

"By Jove, I think we've got it! A stable suspension! This is exactly what the Headmaster asked for. I'll call it...Voertigern's Polychrome Bombard!..."

*FOOM!!!!*

*The potion in the flask glowed brightly and exploded, leaving Trent's skin and hair rainbow colored.*

"What went wrong? Of course!! The potion is the distillation of light, and as such cannot be contained with an ordinary flask. I'll have to ask Professor Kobiyashi on how best to enchant the flask to hold the potion...but first, I need to talk to Trouble to restock the ingredients."

*Trent cleaned the rainbow stain out of his skin, but his hair remained rainbow colored and sticking straight up."

[Victoria Navidson]

Victoria caught a glimpse of a very... colorful Professor Voertigern rushing out of his lab, obviously focused on some new project. Curiously, she peered into the lab, smiling as she took in the multi-colored globs of liquid? light? spattered where the Professor must have missed them. Definitely a new invention.

Victoria pulls her wand out of the case and frowns slightly as she notices a chip near the tip of the wand. True, it's an antique, but she thought she'd been more careful with it than that. Making a mental note to give it a going-over with her wand care kit tonight, Victoria flourishes her wand and announces to the empty room, "Well Professor, one of the first things you taught me was to always keep my potions area clean. Tergeo!' She pointed her wand at the room and grinned to herself as the bits of color seemed to vanish. She begins to write in the air with her wand, leaving glowing words hanging in the air above the doorway to the lab.

Hustling back to the lab, Trent saw that the lab had been cleaned.

"Who cleaned up here? Ix Chel, what went on?"

A cloud of darkness accompanied by the rustling of wings heralded the arrival of Ix Chel. Through mental pictures she conveyed to Trent what had happened.

"Well, Miss Navidson deserves a reward...10 points to Colubrae!"

Looking above the door, he saw the glowing inscription.

Pulling out his wand, Trent pointed it at the inscription.
